All members must read, understand, and accept to operate within these community guidelines.
All participants in events hosted by Aalto-Volley agree to fulfill their share of the responsibilities to make the event run smoothly.
For standard recurring events, this always includes:
Setting up the court.
Taking good care of all used equipment (whether they belong to the club or not).
Returning the equipment to their designated places after use.
Players on the same volleyball court are equal and therefore agree to behave maturely and respectfully towards each other.
All cases discrimination are prohibited and must be brought to the attention of our club officials.
Signups
✅ Sign up by clicking the green checkmark on the event.
✅ If the event isn't visible to you, ask to join for a tryout via the club official in charge of the event.
❌ Do not "just show up without anyone knowing about it, because your friend told you it's okay".
Cancellations
✅ Cancel your signup as soon as you know you can't attend the event.
✅ If you must cancel reasonably close (within ~3 hours) to the event's starting time, leave a message in our group chats or inform the club official in charge of the event.
❌ Do not perform a no-show - this is extremely disrespectful.
Comments - use the comment system to communicate any relevant information about your attendance, e.g.
✅ Arriving late -> "~20 mins late"
✅ Bringing important equipment -> "Ball bag + keys"
✅ Uncertain about your attendance -> "Feeling sick, may have to cancel"
✅ Other relevant and good mannered communication -> "Hoping to play setter today"
Preparations
✅ Arrive early - at least 10 minutes before court entry!
❌ Do not default to arriving exactly at or after the court entry time. The other players are busy setting up the courts and warming up - not watching the door for your arrival.
Queues - not in use, it's no longer possible to sign up beyond the signup limit.
Some shifts have attendance limits. If you sign up over the limit, leave a comment to mark your spot in the queue, e.g. "1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. in queue".
